Family Dentistry

Dental Cleanings

Maintaining great dental health requires good at-home dental hygiene and regular exams and cleanings. The American Dental Association recommends visiting the dentist every 6 months. These appointments are important for patients of every age. During your visits, our hygienists will remove any tartar and plaque buildup from your teeth, then clean and polish your teeth. This aids in cavity protection and help stop oral health problems. In addition, we will examine your mouth for any signs of gum disease, oral cancer, and tooth decay.

X-Rays

X-Rays are an important diagnostic tool for identifying dental and oral health issues. It allows our team and dentists to detect tumors, decay, cysts, impacted teeth, and teeth that have yet to emerge. In addition, x-rays are incredibly useful for identifying sources of pain not visible during a visual examination.

Children’s Dentistry

As a family dental practice, we are proud to treat patients of every age. For our younger patients, we work to help them build positive associations with dental visits and oral health. Our goal is to help them develop healthy oral health habits to last a lifetime. Our office is very family-oriented and committed to helping children feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair.

Gum Disease Therapy

It is important to attend regular dental checkups to help monitor and identify any signs of gum (periodontal) disease. Even if you do not exhibit any symptoms and feel healthy, you may still have gum disease, as it can progress without a patient knowing. Left untreated, it can destroy the supporting bones in your mouth and jaw. To help you maintain proper oral health, we maintain the highest level of care. We will help you prevent gum disease from even developing.

Fillings

Fillings are used to treat cavities and help prevent further decay from developing. When using tooth-colored materials, a filling is virtually undetectable. A filling also provides protection against broken teeth, in addition to cavity and decay protection. Composite or tooth-colored fillings provide teeth with improved strength, stability, and color.

Crowns

A dental crown is most often used when a tooth is broken, worn or has a portioned damaged by tooth decay. This restoration option is used to bring strength, aesthetics and function back to a tooth. Crowns can be made with porcelain, metal, or both. These are cemented on existing tooth structure, and unlike fillings, crowns are created in a dental lab. They are sculpted to fit your individual jaw and bite movements.

Bridges

If you are missing one or more of your teeth due to gum disease, decay, or injuries, a dental bridge may be used to restore that area of the mouth. The bridge is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support and helps to restore chewing and speaking ability, as well as facial shape. Because a dental bridge is permanently fixed to adjacent teeth, it is important to maintain a healthy mouth, jaw, teeth, and gums.

Extractions

In some cases, extracting damaged permanent teeth can help a patient return to optimal health. This preserves the aesthetics of your smile and prevents problems with surrounding teeth. We perform some simple extractions here in our practice and we work with local oral surgeons when more complex extractions are needed. We will work with each patient to determine the best option!

Implant Restorations

It is crucial to replace missing teeth, as leaving gaps in your mouth can cause your remaining teeth to shift. This results in discomfort and destabilization of your bite. When properly maintained, dental implants can last a lifetime. A dental implant consists of a titanium rod which is surgically inserted into the bone beneath the gums. This rod fuses to your jawbone and provides a replacement crown, bridge, or dentures with a stable foundation. These replacement options look, function, and feel like natural teeth. In order to support dental implants, you must have sufficient bone structure.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

As part of our commitment to helping every patient feel more comfortable during treatment, we are proud to provide nitrous oxide or laughing gas. This completely safe and effective sedation option is available for patients of all ages. Patients inhale the nitrous gas mixed with oxygen through a mask that fits over the nose. This option is smart for patients who want to feel more relaxed in the dental chair.

Cosmetic Services

Invisalign®

This orthodontic system gradually straightens teeth through the use of invisible, removable aligners. Each set of aligners is custom made and finely calibrated to move a patient’s teeth into the desired position. The Invisalign® aligners are created using advanced 3D computer imaging technology. Many patients prefer this treatment system over traditional metal braces, as it provides them with a discrete way to straighten their teeth, while allowing them to eat what they want.

ClearCorrect

The ClearCorrect system also provides patients with an alternative to metal braces. Similar to Invisalign® this system uses custom-made removable aligners to gradually move and straighten teeth. Each set of aligners is made to fit your tooth structure and can help give you the smile you’ve been dreaming of.

Teeth Whitening

There are many teeth whitening options, and our team will help you determine which regimen fits your needs and goals. We provide a range of in-house options, and can make recommendations for at-home whitening systems. Both types of treatments can help you achieve a confidence-boosting, bright and beautiful smile.

Veneers

If you are looking to correct imperfections in your smile due to stains, gaps, or chips in your teeth, veneers may be the right option. Veneers are made out of tooth-colored materials or porcelain, are stain resistant, and feel like natural teeth. When applied, the veneer covers the front side of the teeth. Veneers are custom made to fit your smile and facial structure. To discuss if this treatment option is right for you, please contact our office today.
